A coffee house branch has opened its doors inside a former bank on Chapel Street in Salford.

The site had already been transformed into SoulBank – the UK’s first stillness centre which offers meditation classes – and now has a coffee shop and takeaway.

Foundation Coffee House already has four other sites in and around Manchester city centre in collaboration with Origin Coffee Roasters.

The new takeaway branch opened on Monday (November 25) inside the SoulBank venue, aiming for a more ‘chill’ and ‘personal’ approach.

The bank, formerly a Williams Deacon Bank, is a Grade-II listed building which involved a restoration project for the coffee chain. Parts of the interior, constructed in the 1800s, cannot be changed due to its listed status.

The venue, which gave away its first 50 coffees, will be open seven days a week from 7.30 am,.

Hot drinks mainly cost £3 with specialty drinks at £4.

Pastries are also on offer and a full menu is in the works, potentially along with an espresso bar.
