Sober project Nathan Kinsey, One of the founders of the project

A brand new immersive sober experience is set to come over to Salford this week with the focus on mental health.

The sober “wellness party” will be hosted at the St. Sebastian’s Community Centre, and will allow residents to reimagine nightlife.

The event will be hosted on November 30, and will allow residents to get involved in the ‘Fusion of Holistic & Dance’ from 1pm to 6:30pm.

The new sober experience will be led by Zenquesto, that was created by founder of the project Nathan Kinsey.

Ahead of the event Nathan shared: “Zenquesto provides a revolutionary alternative that transcends and redefines the typical nightlife, by incorporating activities like sports, arts and dance, which naturally boost well-being, through endorphin release.

“I’m passionate and enjoy what I do and think our experiences make a difference, which we’ve seen.”

Born in Salford, Nathan shared why an event like this is so important, as he continued: “I have and know many people, friends and family, that have died by suicide or attempted or that are struggling and need that change in direction.

“Our events set new standards for the modern age, where love, culture, and positivity take centre stage and wellbeing, creativity and community come together to redefine what a night out can be.”

He continued: “We harness the potential to cultivate a healthier, more sustainable nightlife & rave culture- one that minimises substance abuse and binge drinking, while also fostering community spirit.”

In 2019, Salford had the highest rate of alcohol-related hospital admissions in England, with 3,430 admissions per 100,000 people.

As well as this, since 2018 Salford has seen a 7.7% increase in people with alcohol dependency or alcohol addiction.

The day will be compiled of two parts, each section aiming to create a different kind of relaxation.

Some of the activities  include yoga, immersive dance as well as some DJ sets and some alcohol free cocktails will also be served.

New events like Zenquesto’s ‘Ultimate Wellness Party’ may help to change these statistics and help the local community to enjoy more things like this without having to turn to drink and other substances.
