The Met Office has warned that Storm Bert could bring heavy rain and snow fall, with major highways and tramlines being affected.

Residents in Salford may be experience areas of black ice along pathways that should be taken with precaution, and this will continue for the remainder of the weekend.

And this is expected as dry conditions will continue into the night, with a drop in temperature to a minimum of -2°C, however Salford residents should remain cautious of the weather conditions.

And this has been shared by Transport For Greater Manchester (TfGM) who have issued a Yellow Weather warning in regards to the snow and ice, lasting from today (22 November) to Sunday (November 24).

According to TfGM, heavy snow is expected on Saturday, followed by a quick thaw and rain to follow on from it, with Storm Bert expected to bring strong winds along with it throughout Saturday.

TfGM also warned those travelling on foot or road that travel may be affect by the icy conditions, and to potentially expected longer journey times.

As they said: “Customers travelling by road, rail, bus and tram may experience longer journey times, while icy patches are likely to form on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.”
