Christmas - provided by Recreate U

An annual holiday Christmas club will make its return this festive season as it will aim to provide a wide range of educational and wellbeing services.

The company Recreate-U, a community interest company-based in Salford, will be bringing festive cheers back to Little Hulton and Cadishead for youth in the area.

The holiday club will be providing tutoring, activities and events supporting children, families and the community, with the hope of helping ” people learn and grow so that they can achieve their full potential.”

The festive services will be aiming to combat the cost-of-living crisis by making their sessions accessible to as many families as possible in the area.

The holiday club will be open to children aged by 8-11 years old, and will be providing activities for £10 per session.

Aside from charging locals £10 a session, they community led programmes will be offering free sessions to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as children who receive free school meals.

The holiday programme will be packed with festive activities, including Christmas crafts and gift making, Christmas themed games with prizes and lunch provided for all attendees, as “there can be a huge extra food cost for parents and carers in the holidays”.

These sessions offer not just fun, but a chance for children to boost their confidence and develop their social skills in a safe and supportive environment.

And this has been shared by founder and and CEO of Recreate-U, Claire Benson, has collaborated with schools to deliver mindfulness and wellbeing programmes, equipping young people with tools for positive mental health.

As Claire added: “It takes away any stigma there might be [around the costs of the holiday season].

“Meaning that children from different backgrounds, whose families may be in very different situations are interacting, making friends and learning to understand each other.”

Recreate-U has been running its Christmas Holiday Club since 2022, and have always been praised for its affordability, inclusivity and the joy it brings to children during the festive season.

As one parent shared: “The club has been a lifesaver for us during the holidays, My child comes home happy and excited to share what they’ve done.”

And although they will be offering many affordable opportunities to young children and families in the community – it will be a great way for children to get into the festive spirit – and there will also be other events throughout the period which can be found here.
