The demolition of the Greenhouse building in Media City has begun today as part of a wider scheme to regenerate the area.
The Greenhouse is set to be knocked down as part of MediaCity Phase 2 project, which is working towards a target date of 2030.
The retail building has been home to many companies over the years such as We are Buzz, S&J Media Group.
The space will become part of a new 80,000sqkm development which will include commercial use buildings and new flats.
The plans were approved in August this year.
The new residential buildings set to be built in the space left by the greenhouse will become part of a new ‘Living Hub.’
This hub will take up a quarter of the new development alongside a brand new media hub and culture hub.
The new houses are set to hold employees of the companies that are based in MediaCityUK as part of a work life culture.
