A fashion show will take place in Swinton next week in aid of a Salford support service for people with complex medical needs and learning disabilities.
The fundraiser organised by Aspire Care and Support will partner with the charity Colours to raise money to offer additional support.
The ladies fashion show and pop up shop will showcase High Street brands ranging from sizes 6 to 22 at up to 70 per cent off.
The fundraiser on Friday November 15 will be held at the Waterside Specialist Support Centre in Swinton, which offers specialised support to those with autism spectrum disorder, complex disabilities or other health needs.
Joanne Hope, who has been a staff member at Waterside for two years, said: “The people we support don’t just come here to sit in front of the TV, we do activities with them.”
The centre provides activities such as day trips, going out on specially adapted bikes, rebound sessions on trampolines, and time in the multi-sensory room.
She continued: “They’re very, very active when they come here. We hope to send them away from here exhausted because they’ve had so much fun.
“And of course, all these activities need funding, which is why we do fundraisers like the ladies fashion show. Raising more funds helps us to do these activities with them, which I think provides a better service.”
Aspire receives a lot of help from external companies and local businesses, such as Colours which they have partnered with for this event.
“We’re grateful for anything – for help, donations and support, so thank you to everybody who does,” said Joanne.
The doors to the centre on Billy Lane, Swinton, will open at 6.30pm, with the show starting at 7pm. Tickets cost £8, which includes entry to a raffle.
Tickets can be reserved at waterside@iamaspire.org.uk. For more information click here.
