Salford City Roosters new head coach Andy Daw is joining the club with fighting talk for its future.
Daw has been brought in due to his experience as a player, coach and conditioning expert. He also has strong connections throughout the rugby league community playing and learning under professional setups.
Daw said: “I’m looking forward to the times that were going to have because we’re going to shock a lot of people.
“I’ll bring enthusiasm, putting the 1% into the 99s.
“Last thing I want to do is to come in there and start treading on toes. If it’s not broke don’t fix it. And just adding to what’s already there, sharing new ideas and building this, it’s going to be something really big.
“I’m really champing at the bit to get going.”
Club Captain Marc Jones and Mike Foster will continue their roles as assistant coaches, as they ensure valuable leadership support for the team.
The Eccles-based club aim to be back into the National Conference League within the next three to five years, after having to withdraw their membership from the Rugby Football League in 2018 due to financial and administrative reasons.
The Roosters are currently playing in the Northwest Men’s league Division 1 which is an amateur division only one step off the National Conference League, which is the highest in amateur rugby league.
Having to build from the ground up from the grassroots divisions, the Roosters are the fastest growing Rugby League Club in the region with a history going back to 1977.
