North Walkden FC

North Walkden FC will remain at the top of the second division of the Manchester League after a dominant performance against Moston Brook. 

The club described the score line as a “huge result”, and was detailed a fixture that “had everything in it” – adding that it was a great watch for neutral spectators.

The club were able to extend their lead against the Oldham based side through the help of Jack Thomas and Tommy Ward, who were able to find themselves on the scoresheet twice.

The club were also able to extend their lead with the help of Brad Brown in the 88th minute, strengthening the teams advantage.

North Walkden’s Jack Whitehead was named man of the match after what was described as putting in “a real shift for his team.”

The tough opposition and league rivals were disappointed with the fixture, however, they did share that they had “No complaints on our behalf, just didn’t turn up.”

North Walkden FC now sit in prime position six points clear of their league rivals, and despite Moston Brook having two games in hand, the victors goal difference will keep them in top spot.

Following the victory, North Walkden will turn their attention to Stafford Argyle in the County Cup, where they will be hoping to continue their form.

The cup fixture will take place on the Saturday 2 November, and will be a challenging away fixture.

However, after a dominant league performance the side in the second division will be hoping to continue their winning ways.
