Matty Foster has signed a one-year extension at Salford Red Devils keeping him at the club for the 2025 season.
The extension in the contract will see the play continue to play for the club after he joined from St Helens ahead of the 2024 season.
Foster will be hoping to extend to the clubs success, with the side reaching the playoff places in the 2024 campaign.
The young start has been able to work his way into the Red Devils squad, after he progressed through the scholarship programme at Saints and showed plenty of first-grade promise.
However, following back-to-back ACL injuries it has since limited his chances, managing just one senior appearance.
After spending some time on loan at Swinton Lions, the back-rower joined the Reds looking to kickstart his senior career under the talented coaching team.
In 2024, Foster made three appearances before suffering a nasty ankle injury that kept him sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.
However, there have been plenty of promising signs amongst his short cameos.
He will be looking to force his way into Head Coach, Paul Rowley’s plans when the team reconvenes for pre-season.
On extending his stay with the Red Devils, Foster said: “I’m really happy to extend my stay at Salford and grateful to spend another year with these boys.
“I was gutted to cut my season short through injury, but I can’t wait to get back into training and look forward to continuing my development under the coaching staff.
“A big thank you to the supporters for all their backing of the team – I can’t wait to run out in front of you all again next season!”
Head Coach, Paul Rowley added: “I am really pleased that Matty remains part of the group going into 2025.
“He has been fantastic on and off the field, a great lad to be around and an absolute pleasure to coach.”
