Salford City FC returns to The Peninsula Stadium this evening, hosting League Two opposition Swindon Town at 7:45 pm.

Karl Robinson’s side will look to improve on Saturday’s result, following a 1-1 draw away to Crewe Alexandra as they hope to turn their league fortune.

The Ammies currently sit 18th in the Sky Bet League Two, only managing to win just one of their last five games.

Karl Robinson’s side have only been able to collect five points during this period drawing twice, and losing the other two fixtures.

However, this fixture can be expected to be in the favour of the Ammies, with Salford City winning three out of six games on home turf including their most recent evening home fixture vs MK Dons.

The visitors Swindon Town will make the three-hour, 171-mile trip up to M7 from Wiltshire to the Peninsula Stadium, with the travelling fans, hoping for a reaction from their team, after a 1-2 home loss to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

Three points have come at a premium for Mark Kennedy’s side this season, with Swindon winning just twice so far, drawing and losing five each.

The Irishman will be hoping for swift improvements as he reaches the important winter period, and will be looking for a positive Christmas in his first term at the club.

And despite the Ammies positive form at home, Swindon are strong on the road, losing just once on their travels so far this campaign.

Tonight’s visitors sit 21st in the table, two points behind Salford, making the prospect of a win even sweeter for both sides.

Historically, Swindon enjoy their visits to the North West, in their last four trips to Salford, they have won three times and drawn once.

The two sides last met in February this year with their efforts shared at the County Ground after neither side could find an elusive second goal, to end the fixture 1-1.

Tickets are still available to purchase, and the game will be broadcast on Sky Sports Plus.
