Salford charity Age UK have announced that they will be merging with another Greater Manchester department in 2025.
The merger with the Age UK Trafford branch will intend to unify the two boroughs in the hope of expanding services to the older generation.
Both organisations have existed as independent charities for over 50 years, and have brought a rich amount of engagement across the community.
The merger will hope to amplify the commitment to the quality of care and support services that they already offer.
The connection of the two borough’s and will hope to offer support for the communities from 31st March 2025.
Beginning in 2025, it will also mark a new phase in enhancing and expanding the services.
With this also being felt by Dave Haynes, Chief Executive Officer, Age UK Salford, who said: “Our two organisations have a shared commitment to serving our communities.
“By joining forces, we will be able to support even more people to get the very best from later life.”

However, this year marks Age UK Salford 50th anniversary this year between November 2023 and 2024, as they celebrate their support across the community.
Throughout this time, the independent charity have been able to offer support in a variety of ways, helping lead activities, offering financial support, and helping those with Dementia.
And a perfect of example of their support, as they are opening a new music cafe in Weaste later this month, as it will act as a safe haven for dementia sufferers.
The Age UK Salford project will allow those with dementia to use music-based therapy to improve overall health and wellbeing.
So, with the support that they are set to receieve from the merger with another successful independent charity such as the Trafford organisation the possibilities for helping the elderly community continued to broaden.
As Ann Marie Jones, Chief Executive Officer, Age UK Trafford said: “Uniting with Age UK Salford is about strengthening existing services to our two communities and developing new services for a stronger future.
“Together, we can build a future where older people in Salford and Trafford live life to the fullest.”
