The Salford Youth Zone has confirmed another patron will join the development plan, pledging a five year deal.
The Salford-based company, Fletchers Engineering are the latest business to support the SYZ, with the company committing to a patronage agreement.
The agreement will see the company pledge their engineering services, providing contributions to the construction and the early developments of the Youth Zone.
Fletchers Engineering started as a small family enterprise in Salford, the company originally started by concentrating on the needs of schools in the local area.
And it seems that with this partnership they continue to remain committed to the future generations of Salford, attaching themselves to the SYZ 40 years on.
The partnership will be another helping hand in providing a safe space for thousands of young people across Salford, with Steve Fletcher, sharing: “At Fletchers Engineering, we believe in the power of community.
“We are proud to be contributing to the creation of a safe haven for Salford’s youth – a place where they can find support, engage in positive activities, and forge meaningful connections.”
He continued by adding: “Together, we can make a real difference in our community in support of our young people.”

However, this isn’t the first time the company have supported the SYZ, with the engineering team completing a sponsored 10km walk across the city in April.
The fundraiser was able to raise an impressive £3165 for the Youth Zone, with the trip including the chance to watch Salford City FC play.
And with this being a very exciting opportunity for the future of the SYZ, as Amanda Coverdale, Senior Philanthropy Manager, reflected on the important role of businesses in supporting Youth Zones.
As she said: “Businesses have a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference by becoming Patrons of Youth Zones.
“Through their support, businesses can contribute to the well-being and development of young people, as well as their local community, helping to create a brighter future for the city of Salford.”
The support from the Founder Patrons now contribute to create 70% of the annual running costs of a Youth Zone, that also hopes to create 70 new jobs in the area.
The helpful support from the patrons will with the foundations to develop and maintain excellent services for young people which match the quality of the building.
The exciting new building that will be located on Belvedere Road in Pendleton will help usher in a new era for the city’s youth, offering educational, recreational, and developmental opportunities in a safe and inclusive environment.
