Flood alerts have been issued for three areas across Salford amid heavy rainfall.
The amber flood alerts have been given to areas surrounding the River Irwell, including parts of Worsley, Salford Quays and Broughton.
Each of the three areas in Salford have seen significant increases in water levels as a result of the heavy rain throughout Monday (September 30).
The water level at Worsley Brook has seen an increase from 0.16m at 11am, to 1.69m as of 5pm.
According to the Government website, the highest normal level of water in this area is 1.79m, with property flooding becoming a possibility at 1.94m.
The Manchester Racecourse area of the River Irwell has seen water rise to the highest level in Salford. The water level has increased from 1.18m at eleven o’clock this morning, to 2.19m as of 5pm. Flooding in this area becomes a possibility in this area at 3m.
The third area of Salford to receive a flood alert is the River Irwell at Adelphi Weir. The water level has increased from 0.50m this morning to 1.72m. The top of the normal range for this area is 2m.
The report categorised the water level at each of this locations as being normal but rising. The report has also urged residents within these areas to be safe when travelling in the poor weather conditions.
