A brand new festival will be taking place at Clifton Cricket club in Swinton this weekend as MCR Rocks will take centre stage.

The festival ran by MCR Rocks will hope to encourage people of all ages to get involved and enjoy a full day of music and entertainment.

As it will hope to encourage Salford locals and many across Greater Manchester to visit and support tribute bands and local talent for an unmissable event.

The show hopes to be a sell out event, with over 1,400 tickets being on offer.

And guests can expect to seem some  familiar names from across the music industry as it looks to be the highlight of the weekend.

Organised in just 60 days, they have reached the end of the home straight with the event set to take place this weekend on Saturday 28 September.

Event organiser of MCR Rocks, Paul Eden spoke positively ahead of the event, as he said: “It was very short notice, and we were able to get a lot of bands I have worked with before involved.

“We have some of the best tribute bands around, we have tributes of Fleetwood Mac, Amy Winehouse, UB40, and Oasis.”

The show will also feature a mixture of tributes, as well as up and coming aspiring performers like the Florentenes, The Height, Palershae, and Dirty Circus.

With Paul going onto mention that Dirty Circus were signed at the same time as Kasabian.

The show will run from 12:00pm to 9:30pm, and will provide families and friends the experience of a full afternoon of music and enjoyment.

And that isn’t all, the show will also be hosting something for everyone, with a lot attractions as Paul added: “We’ve got Indian street foo, we’ve got a burger van, a music store.

“We have even got a cake store and a face painter so there is something for everybody.”

As well the music and the amazing offers that the show will provide, Clifton Cricket Club and Paul have arranged for the beverages to be as cheap as possible.

With all the alcohol being priced at £5 throughout the entire day.

As he continued: “If they were charging silly prices I probably wouldn’t have entertained the festival but thankfully we are all on the same page.

“We all want something for the community.”

The show will be directed at families of all ages, with Paul adding: “I want everyone to be there. I want it to be accessible to all.

“We didn’t want to go too big for the first year. We wanted everyone to be comfortable and spend the day there.”

And if that wasn’t enough Paul has also shared that there will be a DJ on site, with DJ Clint Boon and Paul mixing on the stage for a performance you wouldn’t want to miss.

The show will feature nine acts across a nine and half hour show, and with only two tickets remaining it promises to be a no stop music experience.
