The undefeated Salford boxer Alex Murphy looks to move his professional record to 12 – 0 in October. 

Salford boxer, Alex Murphy has his fight date locked in on the Wasserman ‘Back to Business’ show on Saturday the 25th  of October.

The local-born fighter will be competing to keep his undefeated streak alive against Dan Booth, who holds a record of 6-6.

The 37-year-old fighter will battle it out with the Salford superstar, with the contest being held at The Toughsheet Community Stadium.

Viewers will have the chance to watch the fighter either live in the stadium or have the option of watching live on Channel 5.

The 23-year-old boxing prospect, who has just signed under new management with Lets Go Management and Fiyre adversary is hopeful ahead of his next bout.

With ‘Super’ Alex Murphy added: “I’ve changed management now, and this will be my first fight under new management.

“I’ve got a fight date and I’m buzzing with it.”

With this fight hoping to take him to 12-0, he spoke about the opportunity he’s been given for the fight, he said: “You can’t really ask for much more, it’s a big platform.

“A TV show six-rounder and a good opponent, and it’s at Bolton. It’s all perfect.”

The orthodox boxer last fought earlier this year in April, where he competed on the Black Flash Promotions show.

He was able to showcase his skills, when he fought against 33-year-old Eliecer Quezada.

The fight ended up going to a points decision with Murphy securing the win against his Nicaraguan opponent, scored 59-55.

With winning momentum going into the fight, he will be sure to take a lot of confidence fighting in familiar territory.

As ‘Super’ Alex Murphy will return to a place very close to his heart, fighting at the home of his favourite club, Bolton Wanderers.

With the place of the fight not only giving him the confidence being at Bolton’s stadium, but walking into the fight knowing he has won all four previous at the stadium.

As a super fan of the club, he added that he will be “looking to go to the game the next day with a huge smile.”

With the huge anticipation ahead of the fight, he continued to speak about the excitement being shared with the club, he said: “Tickets are going well with Bolton fans. I’ve got a lot of names now, the posters have been put up in the club shop.

“The support I’m getting from the fan base is growing, I’m buzzing with it.”

Fans can expect an explosive performance from the Salfordian boxer, who has been working hard since April sparring a careful selection of opponents.

With Alex sparring with another Josh Holmes, who holds an impressive record of 15-0.

With the opportunities ahead of the fight, he went on to add: “It’s a good chance to look at him and set up sparring.

“Joe is a very good fighter he is great sparring for me.”

The local boxer fights out of the Eccles Boxing School, and he shared how he intends to put Salford on the map: “I’ve got good support in Salford and I’m very grateful for it.”

He continued: “There aren’t loads of boxers from Salford, it’s a small community I think it’s good when someone is doing well for themselves the community comes together to support it doesn’t go unnoticed.”

With the invested support from the community, he also shared that this won’t be the last time you will see him fight this year as he intends to finish the year on a high.

As he said: “There are talks about another fight in December that would be perfect for me because that would then be three this year.

“Get this fight out the way have a week or two off, and then get right back into camp that will set me nicely up for next year.”

With his winning form, Alex hopes to continue his form and secure some belts this year, as he said: “Get the first fight of the year to be in the central area for a title fight.

“Get that win then can kick on and have another successful year with some more titles to come.”

Full of confidence he added: “The sooner the belts come, the better for me”.

With title aspiration now in the picture for Alex, he will look to make a statement this October on Channel Five, as he said: “I’m stepping up, I need this exposure and the publicity and I need to get on shows like this.

“To showcase myself and show everyone what I can do and how good I really am. this is the perfect platform to put on a good performance.”
