Salford Red Devils Starlet, Summer Harris will be out for 10 weeks after undergoing surgery for her Lisfranc ligament injury.
Following the surgery, Harris is known to be is recovering well and has as of today (September 24) had her cast removed.
With the injury being a painful injury, specialists have concluded that Harris will not be able to return to the field until December.
However, Salford Red Devils fans should not lose hope, as Harris has been known to be raring to go and wants to “get back for preseason.”
As she continued: “I should hope to be fit for the first game back, if not then the second or third”
Harris aims to learn from her previous injury the season before, as she stated: “It was a real low point for me
“I sprained my ankle quite badly. I was out for six weeks. That wasn’t a good point in my career.”
But following the previous injury, she was quick to mention that she is faithful, as she said: “I came back stronger and better than ever, so hopefully I can do the same thing this time around.”
And there is no surprise that she is itching to get back to impress her new coach, Mike Grady, who started last season.
As she added: “It has been good to get a fresh perspective on the team, so he can hopefully take us to the next level.
“He has never coached a women’s team before, which we have taken as a positive, because it has good to get a fresh insight on the game.
“He can take what he knows from the men’s game and implement it into our own.”
The message is clear going into the new season, with fans encouraged not to lose hope as they should feel very encouraged for the new season.
“There have been a few setbacks, but it looks as if they have used those setbacks to spring on and get better than ever.”
