Salford’s Ceremonial Mayor Tanya Burch will be skydiving this August to raise money for a number of charities.
Burch will skydive on August 31 this year to raise vital funds for her charity appeal, supporting two causes; St Ann’s Hospice in Little Hulton and Royal Naval Association in Pendleton.
Joining the Ceremonial Mayor on this adventure will be Vikas Shah MBE, Deputy Lieutenant for Greater Manchester, and his wife Rachel. Together, they will be jumping from a plane in an effort to raise awareness and funds for the charities chosen this year.
Speaking ahead of the event, Ceremonial Mayor Tanya Burch said: “I’m thrilled to be taking part in this skydive for such important charities. Salford residents, Council colleagues, friends and family have been extremely supportive and quite a few are coming to the airdrome on the day. Please pray for the sunshine!
“I’m delighted to be able to contribute to the brilliant work these charities are doing, and I hope this event will inspire others to get involved in their own way.”
For those wishing to support the Ceremonial Mayor’s skydive, donations can be made via the fundraising page on Salford City Councils website.
