Plans have been unveiled for the construction of 27 new family homes near RHS Garden Bridgewater in Boothstown.
The homes will be a mix of semi-detached and larger detached houses and will be accessible from the north off Leigh Road (A572).
To the west of the site is a housing development on Falconwood Chase and to the east is Alder Wood.
The developers, Salboy, aim to demolish the existing ‘derelict’ farm structures at Booths Bank Farm to make way for the houses.
The plans would supposedly neighbour Peel L&P’s proposed project for almost 300 homes nearby, which has received over 1000 objections.
Each house will be set on a large plot, offering spacious front and rear gardens an all of the properties will also be provided with a minimum of two car parking spaces.
The developers claim the site will create “a modern, eco-friendly community that thoughtfully incorporates and enhances the existing natural landscape”.
The proposals also include a forest play area and wetland features, with the removal of the existing on-site culvert.
The development is part of the Places for Everyone scheme which aims to build 28,000 new homes in the city. Salford became the first to adopt the development scheme in March this year.
Places for Everyone is a long-term development plan for nine Greater Manchester districts including Salford.
