The ASEZ volunteer group gathered 45 bags of waste in the Winton area in a clean-up event over the weekend.
The event received support from local councillors from Barton and Winton, along with officers from Salford City Council, joining the volunteers in their efforts.
Together, they worked to clear rubbish from the Port Salford Greenway, Winton Park and the surrounding residential areas.
This initiative was a joint effort by university students from the ASEZ volunteer groups in Manchester and South Korea.
Councillor Jacqui Fahy said: “University students are our future leaders, and ASEZ volunteers set a positive example for the rest of the community.”
Volunteer Bradley Lawton also commented: “I was moved by the appreciation from the local council. They spoke highly of our work and church and expressed a desire to continue supporting our voluntary efforts. I truly give thanks to Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother as I see their glory shining throughout Manchester.”
ASEZ is a global student volunteer group associated with the World Mission Society Church of God. The acronym ASEZ stands for “Saving the Earth from A to Z” reflecting their mission to protect the environment.
