Police have sadly found a body following the search for Tomasz who was last seen in Eccles this month.
Officers were becoming increasingly concerned for the 45-year-old who was seen in Eccles at around 6pm on Thursday August 1 on Centenary Way before going missing.
It is believed he was close to the Lighthouse Church at around 9.55pm that same night.
As concerns grew and the search intensified police released CCTV footage of Tomasz walking down Centenary Way and urged anyone with information about his movements to get in touch.
Although no formal identification has taken place so far, his family have been informed.
A GMP spokesperson said: “Officers searching for missing Tomasz Swietek sadly found the body of a man earlier today. While formal identification has not yet taken place, his family have been informed and are being supported at this time.
“Thank you to everyone who has shared our appeals.”
