Oddity Acting is launching new acting classes over the summer for young people in Salford looking to get into TV work.

From August 14-16, a three-day summer workshop will be held at All Hallows High School, off Eccles Old Road in Pendleton.

Sherelle and Annalise are the founders of ‘Oddity Acting’ and are both actresses and casting assistants who aim to pass on their passion and knowledge of acting to the youth of Salford.

Oddity are keen to step away from the typical ‘drama class’, and instead label themselves as a TV and Acting School.

Sherelle added: “Due to the cuts in funding of arts in many schools, it is important for children to be able to participate and explore new passions.”

Classes start from £48, which includes four 1.5 hour classes over the course of four weeks.

Anybody can sign up and they are also offering a free trial for new students.

They are offering classes for eight-11 year olds, 12-15 year olds and 16-17 year olds.

Both Sherelle and Annalise state they want to embrace the individuality of every young person, as their uniqueness is their greatest asset.

The classes will allow students to explore a range of acting methods and techniques through practical and fun exercises, as well as practicing script analysis, on-camera experiences, camera insights.

Annalise and Sherelle share more about the classes here.

The aim is for children of Salford to be able to explore their passions of being an actor, and unleash their dramatic side.

Other acting classes are also set to be launched from September 7 also at All Hallows High School.
