A ‘community champion’ who leads an important employment service has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday honours.
Isaac Ginsbury, who grew up in Broughton, leads The Jewel Foundation which is an employment support service created to support the Jewish community.
Isaac (39) stated: “It has always been a tremendous privilege to be able to support the community and this has only been possible because of the incredible support I get from colleagues and Trustees.
“Really, they deserve all the credit but I hope to use this award to champion the incredible charities and community projects I am involved in, to continue enhancing people’s lives and ensuring local communities can live together in peace, prosperity and in good health.”
Isaac moved to Manchester in 2007 and has been involved with community projects and employment support in Salford and Greater Manchester since then.
Councillor John Merry, Lead Member for Adult Social Care and Health, at Salford City Council said: “A huge congratulations goes to Isaac on being awarded the MBE. The Jewel Foundation has been working with us here at Salford City Council since 2011. The council commissions his service through Children’s Services to deliver advice and support and training around employment across Salford and Bury.
“Isaac is so passionate about helping local people and helping them to achieve their full potential. He totally deserves this award for being a voice for the community and working with them to provide support, guidance and vital links to public services so they can succeed.
“In addition Isaac is also a long serving member of the Salford Orthodox Jewish Forum and an active advocate for the Jewish community across both Salford and Bury.”
