The teenage band ‘The Height‘ from Salford will headline a “big gig” at the The Deaf Institute in Manchester this June.
It’s rumoured that the The Height will become the youngest band to ever perform on June 1 at The Deaf Institute on Grosvenor Street.
The Height are a three piece indie rock band hailing from the musical mecca of Salford consisting of John Denton (14) on vocals/lead guitar, Brandon Greenhalgh (14) on bass and Ted Ellis (18) on drums.
The band formed in the late summer of 2022 and the boys soon released their official debut single ‘Nowhere’ in December 2022.
Not only have their singles received much critical acclaim, the band has also caught the ear and eye of legendary The Smiths guitarist and co-songwriter Johnny Marr.
Johnny Marr awarded the lead vocalist/guitarist John Denton the first ever ‘The Salford Foundation Trust Johnny Marr Award’ in 2023 when the vocalist was 13 years old. On a radio interview for BBC Radio 2, Johnny referred to John as “the real deal”.
The bands hit, One to Another, was featured by Salford City FC in their launch of their 2023/2024 kit. The music video, produced by Adidas and Pro-Direct Soccer, did well on social media even got featured on David Beckham’s Instagram.
The band are preparing for a host of gigs this summer, including a gig at the Peninsula Stadium in June and a gig at BritFest in Cheshire this July.
