A fun club in Irlam is preparing to take its young members on an exciting summer trip after securing a donation from a local business.
Ladybirds Fun Club in Irlam has received a £500 boost from leading waste management specialist CSG, which has a facility in nearby Cadishead.
The funding comes through CSG’s Community Chest initiative which aims to support good causes close to the business’ 32 regional bases across the UK.
Linda Jones, a volunteer at Ladybirds, said: “We are extremely grateful to CSG for this generous support.
“We meet every week to offer the children fun activities right throughout the year, easing the burden on working parents in the process.
“We have built a fantastic community and many friendships have been formed.
“We’re planning a super summer trip and any remaining funds will be put towards craft equipment for the children to use. The children are very excited.”
Ladybirds Fun Club, which meets every Wednesday, offers after school and holiday club activities for children aged five to 11 at Lady James’ Hall on Liverpool Road.
Daryl Tunningley, Marketing Manager at CSG, said: “We’re delighted to support Ladybirds Fun Club with this donation. The club provides a valuable service for both young people and their parents in the area.
“CSG celebrates 90 years in business this year. Being involved in the communities in which we operate has always been important to us and Community Chest gives us an opportunity to support good causes in a meaningful way.”
CSG’s Cadishead facility, on Liverpool Road, is the company’s flagship waste processing centre.
