Nature lovers will be able to learn more about Salford’s flora and fauna on a new spring wildlife walk around Peel Park on Sunday (April 21).
Forager David Winnard is leading the tour and is the founder of Discover the Wild, a natural history company based in Manchester and North Wales that provides services for foraging events, species identification workshops and discussions on wild plants and fungi.
Sunday’s event is run by Salford Ranger Team and during the walk David will identify and talk about species found around Peel Park and the University of Salford.
The event will start at 10am till 12pm and is free to attend.
David is one of the most respected foragers and naturalists in the North of England. He has worked for organisations including the BBC, RSPB, and the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.
His love of wildlife started when he was five and he went on to get a degree in wildlife photography before starting Discover the Wild.
