Swinton Lions are back in action this weekend as they host Oldham RLFC in the fourth round of the Challenge Cup.
The Lions will hope to continue their run in the cup after beating amateur side West Hull ALRFC in the third round.
A performance that saw ten tries from the Lions was more than enough to progress past West Hull, although the amateur side were giving it their all on a bigger stage.
They have already succeeded last season’s Challenge Cup run, as they saw a third exit in 2023, following a defeat to Barrow.
Oldham overcame Barrow in their third round fixture, preventing a repeat of last season’s fixture for Swinton.
The fourth round fixture is taking place on Sunday. February 25 at 6pm at their ground on Heywood Road, in Sale.
The battle of the two Greater Manchester clubs will see the triumphant enter the fifth round on the weekend of March 9/10.
Round 4 and Round 5 has all remaining Championship, League 1 and community clubs play out to a final four, before all 12 Super League clubs enter the competition in Round 6.
Swinton are currently pegged as the favourites for the tie, with Oldham in League 1, and having recently struggled with issues surrounding their management and ground.
