The Brew Crew is returning to Salford to offer a warm welcome, community spirit and a brew.
The Brew Crew, run by Hugo Webb and Karen McCarthy, is back at Friends in Need Salford at the Walkden Congregational Church every Saturday from February 10 from 10.30am-12.30pm.
Hugo and Karen are encouraging people to come down and visit.
“We are always happy to make a party.”
The Brew Crew provides a place where people can go for a cup of tea, a chance to play games or just chat.
It was created in November 2022 to bring the community together in the wake of Covid restrictions and then helped to ease the cost of living crisis, which left many people feeling lonely and in need of a warm place to go.
Hugo won a Lancastrian award in 2023 for his efforts dedicated towards making a difference in the community.
Hugo added: “That award showed us that we were making a difference.
“We want people to know that they’re not alone.”
Hugo has also contributed towards several other community organisations such as ‘Talk About it Mate’.
In 2023, he joined his partner Karen McCarthy to create Friends in need Salford who are striving to make a difference in the community.
The two who are also a part of the invisible illness group are reinforcing how important it is to get Salford together.
Karen said: “These communities are so important for people who need a voice”.
The Brew Crew are encouraging people to come and visit them and make the community ‘feel good’ once again.
“We help so many people now and want to help more!”
