In 2023 Swinton reached the 3rd round of the cup before being knocked out by this seasons potential 4th round opponents, Barrow.
The championship season is set to begin on 17th march against Whitehaven as much of February is spent playing challenge cup games for championship and league one sides before super league teams enter at round 6.
Swinton come into the season having made a number of signings ahead of the start of the campaign including former Warrington wolves halfback Declan Patton, who was part of the Warrington side that won the challenge cup in 2019.
Other stand out ties from the draw include amateur side Thatto Heath from St. Helens taking on last seasons championship league leaders Featherstone, as well as another amateur side Siddal taking on Wakefield trinity who were in the super league as recently as last season.
