This youth facility is holding multi-sport sessions that are packed full of activities designed for those specifically with disabilities and/or additional needs.
A child with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) typically has a serious decrease in physical activity as he/she gets older. The gap widens even more significantly when a child is around 16.
The percentage of SEND children who are fairly active is only 52 per cent compared to children without SEND, which is 72 per cent.
According to research, they are twice as likely to feel lonely, left out and feel like they have no one to talk to.
84 per cent of disabled students would love to do more sport when compared to students without SEND.
The Den: Youth Space in Walkden town centre provides many activities for ages between one-year-old to 18 years old.
The activities that they provide are; gymnastics, dance and so many more, so children can just have fun playing sport and not care about anything else.
