Passionate students from Salford University take a stand for change.

Over 300,000 people took to the streets of London to protest for a ceasefire in Gaza after the war that occurred on the 7th of October.

Many of the protestors aimed to boycott and deter other members of the public from companies like; McDonalds, Starbucks, Pret A Manger and other chains that seen to have relations with Israel.

Chants such as, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” and, “Free free Palestine” were roared and screamed throughout central London as passionate protesters held up signs and flags in support of the country.

Fiza Mahmood, a student from the University of Salford, who attended the protest said: “We kept screaming this because after 75 years of oppression, we want Palestine to be free from occupation.”

“Over 5,000 innocent children have died in the last month, and no one is doing anything to stop it.”

Around the world there have been over a thousand marches and rallies in support of Palestine, including in central Manchester, where people travelled from all over to voice their frustration.

Another Salford student, Safiya Omar, who took the train to Manchester to protest said: “Our aim is to make people aware of what is happening. Companies like Starbucks directly fund the war that is happening, and we won’t stand for it.”

“It’s our right to raise our voice for something that we believe is wrong,” she added.
