Popular Quayside pub and restaurant, the Dockyard, is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this month.
The Dockyard, based next to Orange Tower, first opened in 2013 and is having a week of celebrations for their first decade in business.
Between November 27 and December 3, events ranging from quiz nights to live jazz artists and a 10-year price throw back day.
Luke, a junior manager at Dockyard, said that certain menu items and drinks will be available at 2013 prices on November 28. He went on to explain the reasons for the pub’s longevity and success.
Luke said: “We’re doing a time warp day where prices will go back to what they were 10 years ago, pints down to £3 and certain meals a fiver
“We’ve been here since day one. We were the first pub/restaurant that opened in media city which helps because no matter what new places open, everyone knows us.”
Luke added: “Media City is such a changing environment, there are a lot of new places opening so it is a challenge to keep with the times. The Dockyard do a good job of retaining our customers with our modern yet rustic atmosphere which really catches the essence of Media City.”
Luke emphasized that the week is not a one off and the Dockyard often hold special events, such as a Super Bowl viewing party and an Art Battle event as well as frequent sponsorship parties with brands like Hooch and Thatcher’s.
You can also tune into their quiz and open mic nights every other Wednesday from 7:30pm.
Addressing the customers on the eve of their anniversary, Luke said: “A big thank you to everyone whose supported the Dockyard over the years.
“Come down to the 10 year week special because there’s going to be loads of fun stuff to do throughout the week.”
