The award-winning Broadway play, Life of Pi, is set to hit The Lowry this festive season.
The show will feature ‘Richard Parker’ and a life-size puppeteer Royal Bengal Tiger from Tuesday December 5 to Saturday 6 January 2024.
The play is based on Yann Martel’s original book, Life of Pi, which sold over 15 million copies worldwide.
The show, directed by Max Webster, is set to be a “breath-taking” adaptation of the book and will tell “an epic journey of endurance and hope.”
Life Of Pi is the first West End and Broadway play with a majority South Asian cast/creative team.
The team has won three Tony Awards in the following categories: Best Scenic Design, Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design. Life of Pi also won five Olivier Awards in April 2022
Divesh Subaskaran will make his professional debut in the central role of Pi. He is joined by Antony Antunes, who performs as Tiger Hind, Cook and Father Martin.
The play is also produced by Simon Friend in association with Playing Field and Tulchin/Bartner.
