Salford will mark Remembrance Sunday this year with a series of marches across the city.
The day will give the nation time to reflect and honour those who have given their lives and served their country.
Salford City Council has announced its list of services for Remembrance Sunday – November 12 – with events across the city.
A series of parades will take place, marching to cenotaphs ahead of services at the memorials with the assistance of the Royal British Legion.
Salford – Albert Bentley Place, The Crescent
The parade will leave from the A6 Road outside the Old Pint Pot Public House, Salford at 10.30am and assemble at the Salford Cenotaph, Albert Bentley Place, at 10.40am. A service will start at 10.45am.
Swinton – Chorley Road Cenotaph
The parade will leave Morrisons Car Park, on Swinton Hall Road, at 10.30am and assemble at the cenotaph on Chorley Road at 10.40am. A service will start at 10.45am.
Eccles – Eccles Cenotaph
The parade will leave the car park at the back of Eccles Town Hall, King Street, at 10.40am and assemble at the cenotaph at 10.45am. A service will start at 10.50am.
Irlam – Prince’s Park, Liverpool Road
The parade will leave from outside Irlam Catholic Social Club, Liverpool Road, at 10.20am and assemble at the cenotaph at 10.40am. A service will start at 10.45am.
Walkden – Parrfold Park, Walkden Road
The parade will leave the British Legion, Wilfred Road, Walkden at 9.30am and march to St Paul’s Church, Manchester Road, Walkden for a short service. The parade will reassemble outside the church at 10.30am and parade to the cenotaph at Parrfold Park, Walkden Road, for wreath laying and two minutes silence.
Little Hulton – St Paul’s Peel Church
A church service will be held at 10.30am at St Paul’s Peel followed by wreath laying at the Cenotaph.
