A man has been jailed for 11 years for the sexual assault and kidnap of a Salford teenager.
Jacob Lee, 31, of Pilgrims Way, Salford, had pleaded guilty to the kidnap and strangulation of the 15-year-old girl.
The court heard that on November 29 last year, the girl was walking down Princes Avenue in Salford when she was approached from behind by Lees who then dragged her off before sexually assaulting and attempting to strangle her.
The judge described Lee as a dangerous offender who represents a great risk to women.
Detective Constable, Stuart Bentley, of GMP, said: “I firstly want to commend the young victim and her family for their strength and bravery in reporting this incident to Greater Manchester Police.
“I hope the outcome of this case encourages other victims to come forward. I can assure you that we take all reports of sexual assault seriously and will support victims throughout our investigations.”
Greater Manchester Police encourage anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault or rape to report it to the police by calling 101 or 999 in an emergency.
