A family-owned coffee shop is aiming to provide a new local community experience in Ordsall.
Munchyhub, the local cafe on Phoebe Street, has organised a few meet-up events with free food and drinks for those in the area who’d like to make friends and meet their neighbours.
Owner of the Munchyhub, Peter Istrate, said: “I’ve been living in the area for the past 13 years, I think the area needed a cafe which is something I am passionate about.
“So we decided to open and we hope to bring some benefits to the community.”
Peter and his sister Gina began Munchyhub as a family business in 2020.
The family duo started by baking and delivering goods to people’s doorsteps, before they opened the doors of their Ordsall cafe.
“It’s the first time we’re doing this. It’s our first brand so we don’t have a history with (cafe’s),” said Mr Istrate.
“My background personally is in marketing. So, I decided to bring my marketing experience together with my sister’s cooking skills.”
The cafe make all their food in-house, using fresh ingredients, with their menu including all-day English breakfasts to brownies. Items on offer range from crepes to bagels and they plan to add pizza’s to the menu in the near future.
If you are interested in joining in one of the cafe’s upcoming local events, head to the cafe on 96 Phoebe Street and ask to be added to their WhatsApp group.
