Salford finally registered their first win of September as fans got a glimpse of a teenager who many Ammies supporters have had high hopes over for a few years now.
The young Dutch winger provided the cross that led to Newport defender Declan Drysdale turning the ball into his own net to give Salford City a much needed three points.
Making his debut in August 2021 against the same side, N’Mai is a player Ammies supporters have known for a while making seven appearances.
Before signing for Salford City in 2020 Kelly had trials with both Manchester City and United while also being closely monitored by his homeland’s giants, Ajax.
Pacy and direct N’Mai thrives with the ball at his feet running at defenders, his style of play may remind fans of a cult hero from recent years, Brandon Thomas Asante who last summer left for Championship side West Bromwich Albion.

With an ongoing injury crisis plaguing Neil Wood’s squad with wingers Conner McLennan, Connor McAleny and Luke Bolton both missing games due to injury lately.
N’Mai could get an extended run in the team and a chance to show his talents to Salford boss Neil Wood and the Ammies support.
His lively performance against Newport County, was recognised with him collecting the Man of the Match award and high praise from his manager: “We’ve got seven or eight players out injured we lack pace across the top line.
“He did very well considering it was his first start. He brings energy and athleticism to the side and he’s very good at dealing with the ball.”
The 19-year-old offers something different to the current crop of attackers at Wood’s disposal, with in Matt Smith and Marcus Dackers whom both thrive on long balls and physical aerial battles.
N’Mai could become the key against sides who are accustomed to the other two’s style of play, with his ability to show so much confidence on the ball running, being happy to run at the opposition defence.
With his first start under his belt and a big fixture against struggling Sutton United coming up, it’s likely Salford City fans could see more of their new talent on Tuesday night.
And the Ammies faithful will be hoping his impact on field could help change the sides fortune and shoot them back to the promotion places, where they were last season.
