New Trafford Road “Family Fun Day” takes place this Sunday (October 1) to celebrate the newest addition to Salford’s Bee Network.
The event which celebrates easier transport access in Salford, features live performances from local artists, a fun fair and a climbing wall.
Transport Councillor, Mike McCusker, said: “Salford City Council is fully committed to playing our role in helping achieve national NetZero goals and we are immensely proud to announce the latest addition to our continuously expanding Bee Network.
“This significant development, which has helped connect Salford and Trafford, will enhance accessibility to public transport for both Salford residents and visitors alike.”
The fun day at Ordsall Park further commemorates the recent infrastructure upgrades on Trafford Road that provide a safer commute for residents. Trafford Road has become one of the busiest roads in Salford and the recent infrastructure upgrades are set to improve its capacity to handle road traffic as well as providing better facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.
The fun day features a live performance from artists such as At Home With Lilac, Yemi Bolatiwa and the local teen band ‘The Height‘. Attendees can also bring their bike to the fun day for a free MOT.
The event takes place from 11am to 3pm at Ordsall Park, Trafford Road, Salford M5 3AD.
