Eccles could welcome a total of 35 new affordable homes, and a space for a local charity.
The news comes after land on St Mary’s Road was leased to developer ForViva in a council meeting, on Monday 11 September, by Mayor of Salford, Paul Dennet.
Plans for a nine-storey building encompassing 33 rental homes, two social rental homes, and ground floor space for charity, Salford Foundation, are currently subject to planning approval.
Lead Member for Housing, Property and Regeneration, Councillor Tracy Kelly said: ” With the ongoing cost of living crisis and soaring inflation prices, we understand that more people than ever are now seeking affordable housing.
“We are proud to be working alongside ForHousing to expand the amount of affordable homes available in Salford and to welcome the Salford Foundation to the new premises at St Mary’s Road in Eccles.
“This venture aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing accessible and affordable housing options to our residents.”
