Salfordians have expressed their anger after news that a lane closure and speed restriction order on Mosley Common Road is set to take place for 30 weeks.
The fury comes after a lane on the A580 East Lancashire Rd junction/Mosley Common Road is set to be closed from Monday 18 September for until April for “improvements” from Monday to Friday.
The news of the closure and 30mph restriction was announced yesterday (Wednesday 13 September), in a Facebook post by Salford City Council.
One commenter, Nigel Clark, wrote: “An explanation as to why these works will take so long, just to change the layout of a junction would be more useful, as would the times of the closures.”
Deborah Walsh agreed: “It’s ridiculous now. Road works everywhere! Can’t get out of the area!! I’m sure they do it all at once on purpose!!”
Susan Bennett also said: “All round here has been traffic light after traffic all dummer sale lane mort lane manchester road hough lane and all the way to leigh and cant say any looks much better.”
Salford City Council apologised for the road disruption in the post.
