A Salford charity is hoping to expand its work tackling loneliness throughout the region, thanks to a funding boost.
Unlimited Potential, based in the Innovation Forum, has received a £10,000 grant to expand their services that tackle loneliness throughout Greater Manchester.
After successfully trialling the Spreading Our Net project in Eccles, the service, which nurtures and strengthens connections within communities, will be accessible throughout the region.
Chris Dabbs, Chief Executive of Unlimited Potential said: “This work builds on a successful experiment in Eccles. We found that local people and local businesses are key to helping people to have purpose in their lives and to make new friends.”
The funding comes from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority via its Foundational Economy Innovation Fund, which works to provide grants for businesses and organisations working in or with Greater Manchester’s foundational or ‘everyday economy’ to trial new ideas and become more resilient.
Lou Cordwell, Chair of Greater Manchester Business Board, said: “By supporting innovation across Greater Manchester’s foundational economy, we can deliver increased productivity in the sectors we rely on for our daily needs.
“This fund complements the wide range of business support already in place while backing ideas that could increase the resilience of these sectors in the future.”
