Salford City will be looking for a return to winning ways as they travel to Blundell Park this Tuesday night to face Grimsby Town.

Neil Wood’s side will be looking to secure all three points after being held to a draw at home by Crawley Town.

The Ammies had to come from behind, after an unlucky Luke Garbutt own goal sent them 1-0 down before the break.

Despite going down by a goal Salford showed great determination to come away from the fixture with a point.

The equaliser was a well-worked goal from Stevie Mallan to Connor McAleny, who has scored in both league games.

Salford have met the Mariners on six separate occasions, winning half of these fixtures, it could be the perfect game for Neil Wood to return to winning ways.

And with a slow start to the season for Grimsby, with one draw and two defeats in all competitions, they will also be looking to turn their fortune in this fixture.

With manager Paul Hurst, looking to take the side away from the relegation zone and head back toward the midtable.

But Neil Wood will be optimistic for the Ammies in the game, with the last time they travelled to Blundell Park they beat the side 4-1.

Matt Smith was the hero on that day, scoring a hattrick, with Salford hoping to utilise that once again.

With Salford’s other two previous journeys to Blundell Park, they have won 4-0 and lost their only game to Grimsby 1-0.

This certainly will be game traveling support will be excited for, especially with the recent show of quality across all competitions.

Neil Wood’s side will be looking to maintain the run of four games unbeaten as they push for those automatic promotion places.
