From dog shows to creative workshops, Salford Quays has a host of family-friendly free activities this summer holidays. Check out the range of fun-filled sessions below:

Box on The Docks activities: 

MediaCity’s Box on The Docks is set to host crafting, pottery and macrame workshops for children over the coming weeks. Set in the colourful jungle of painted greenhouses, each activity is accessible for any skill type and a range of ages.

Born To Be Wild Child Crafting, Live Music: 10 August, 17 August, 24 August, 31 August (All from 1pm-3pm / 6pm – 8pm)

Kids Pottery Workshops with Partington Pots: 17 August, 24 August – (both at 11am – 12noon and 1pm – 2pm)

Kids Crafting with Millie: 21 August – 12pm-2pm

Children’s Macrame Keyring Workshop: 23 August, 30 August – (Both at 11am – Midday and 1pm – 2pm)

Kids Crafting with Fernandes Makes and Friends: 14 August, 28 August – (Both at 12pm-2pm)

The Boxes are also set to host a charity festival with a performance from DJ Mike Joyce of The Smiths, with live music, children’s entertainment, a charity raffle and  food and drink.

Set for 19 August from 10am-10pm, the day will see kids’ activities being held across a range of topics, highlighting mental health for children and the importance of exercise.

Quayside activities:

Following on from Box on the Docks’ creative workshops, Quayside has also planned a whole host of artistic sessions for children, including paper crafts, badge making, postcard making, colouring, painting and origami with a selection of local makers and independent shops.

Perfect for little ones through to teens, these sessions promise to bring some colour into the rainy summer, thus far.

Paper Crafts with Creative Coati: 12 August, 18 August, 19 August, 31 August, 1 September, 3 September: (11am – 12noon and 1pm – 2pm)

Creative sessions delivered by Flock and Gaggle: 12 August, 25 August, 26 August, 27 August, 2 September: (11am – 12noon and 1pm – 2pm)

Origami with Nia: 10 August, 20 August: (11am – 12noon and 1pm – 2pm)
