Salford sports clubs could be in with a chance of accessing up to £5,000 in subsidised fees for children and free kits, thanks to a local radio competition.
Hits Radio’s Cash for Kids Sports Challenge is promising to support grassroots clubs across the city, by asking them to fundraise as much as possible until September, and then giving up to £5,000 extra funding.
The challenge, which runs from 16 September to 16 October, will see the three top fundraising groups each receive an extra £5,000, £2,500 or £1,500 to add to their total. There are also two special awards – both worth £500 each – for the best use of social media and the most creative fundraising idea.
Funds raised will be used for a variety of reasons including subsidised membership fees for families who can’t afford to send their children to clubs or helping with clothing or kit for those struggling in the midst of the cost-of-living crisis.
Money will also be used to improve facilities or make adaptations where necessary so that children and young people with additional needs can take part in their chosen sport.
Sports clubs across Greater Manchester can enter the competition.
Entries are open now until midnight on Monday 11th September and you can enter at the Hits Radio website.
