Salford City have confirmed the transfer of experienced defender Curtis Tilt from League One side Wigan Athletic.
The 31-year-old arrives at the Peninsula Stadium on a two-year deal, becoming the third new face to arrive at the club this window.
Tilt was part of the Latics side that won League One in the 2021/22 season, having played at the DW Stadium for the past three years.
Previously, the centre-back played for Forest Green Rovers, Blackpool and Rotherham United during his time in the EFL.
He has also appeared on international duty for Jamaica, making two caps alongside new team-mate Adrian Mariappa.
Tilt told club media:
“I’m pleased to be here, buzzing to get it over the line! I had a few talks with the staff and the Gaffer here, I like the direction that the Club is going in, and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.
“The Gaffer said he wants me to come in and be a voice, be a big part of the changing room and help direct us to the targets that we really want to hit. I’ll always give my all for the badge, I’ve got an aggressive style, I’m quick and try to dominate the opponent that I’m against.
“I can try and bring some guidance to the younger lads, tell them what it’s like to win leagues and be successful in the game. Whether it’s non-league football or the professional game, the standards should always be the same.”
Tilt will join the side ahead of the club’s first home games of pre-season, facing off against West Bromwich Albion and Bolton Wanderers this week.
