Salford City will travel to Championship side Preston North End in the EFL Cup first round.
The draw was made today at 2:30 PM seeing all 72 EFL clubs put into the hat.
The club have now drawn Championship opposition four times out of their five soul appearances in the competition since their promotion to professional football in 2019.
Although they may feel slightly begrudged by this fixture, the Ammies will surely relish the challenge knowing they have beaten Championship opposition before in Rotherham during the 2020/21 instalment.
Preston made it to the second round last year before being dispatched by Wolverhampton Wanderers of the Premier League.

The draw was split between North and South and excludes Premier League Clubs for the first round.
The second round will see the addition of 13 Premier League Clubs not involved in European Competition, while the third round will see the eventual addition of the remaining seven teams.
The pick of the fixtures include four all Championship clashes between QPR vs Norwich, Huddersfield vs Middlesborough, Stoke City vs West Brom and Millwall vs Reading.
Meanwhile League One and League Two clubs discovered their EFL Trophy destiny, once again being split into North and South, but this time into groups of four.
Salford were placed in the all Greater Manchester group E alongside League One Bolton Wanderers, recent rivals Stockport County and Manchester United’s U21 side.
