A Salford based tattoo shop have paired up with Greyhound Rescue charity to create a fundraiser day, in celebration of their 10 year anniversary.
Old Empire Tattoo planned the day for Makants Greyhound Rescue, which will take place on May 20 2023 at the shop in Little Hulton. They will be offering a range of pre-drawn tattoo designs from £20, a raffle and even a chance to meet some of the greyhounds.
The fundraising event is being held by the tattoo shop as rescue dogs are close to the shops heart. The owner Joel Mitchell has adopted a dog, and other employees are charity volunteers for Makants.
Joel said: “We pride ourselves on being a focal point of our community and aim to give back as much as possible.”
Makants Greyhound Rescue is based in Tyldesley, Greater Manchester. After reaching their 10 year anniversary, they are looking to celebrate the 600+ dogs they have rehoused, and raise awareness for the dogs that are still waiting for their forever homes.
The non-profit charity focuses on the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of retired and inured greyhounds. Greyhound racing has been popular across the UK since it was introduced from the United States in 1926. In 2016, over 1,500 retired racing greyhounds were rehoused by independent groups like Makants.
Old Empire Tattoo are hoping to have a ‘very special fund-raising event, with an aim to raise awareness and funds for this amazing organisation”. This event comes as no surprise, as Old Empire Tattoo are truly an advocate for charitable causes which was presented in November at their Remembrance Day event.
If you are looking to raise money for an amazing charity, visit Old Empire Tattoo on the 20th of May as Joel has stated ‘Ourselves and Makants can’t wait to see everybody so make sure you come down and say hello’.
