Taking place every alternate Thursday at The Kings Arms in Salford, the Paint and Sip Class I attended last night (27th April) was great fun.
Paint and Sip classes are run by Paintvine and are just one of the many art classes that they run at both The Kings Arms.
The session was centred around the work of late artist Bob Ross and was a great way of learning how to create your own Snowy Mountains masterpiece.
This particular class was run by local freelance artist, Alice Copley, who made the experience so enjoyable and a whole lot of fun. The atmosphere really was as warm and welcoming as possible, which was really appreciated as a first-time and solo attendee.
Alice started out by demonstrating how to make a quick sketch on the canvas and then guided the class through the process of mixing a number of colours to create the Snowy Mountain landscape.
The class started at 7pm and lasted around 2 hours, finishing at just after 9pm. At first glance, this didn’t seem like enough time as the reference image felt a little daunting at first but it was an absolutely lovely experience from start to finish and Alice did an amazing job of getting through the painting without making the experience feel rushed at all.
The classes are a great way to get yourself out there and make some new friends or to go along to as a group for a wonderful evening out.
If painting isn’t really your thing, Paintvine also runs Sip and Sculpt classes at The Kings Arms too so you can try your hand at creating your very own clay sculpture instead.
