A dietitian working at Salford Royal Hospital has recently been making waves on social media with her dietary advice and information.
Eleanor Sinclair, age 31 from Wilmslow, started work as a rotational dietitian at Salford Royal in May 2022. This came after graduating with a masters in Dietetics from the University of Leeds Beckett. She currently specialises in malnutrition patients.
She has amassed more than 1,000 followers on Instagram and 141 followers on Facebook.
She shares everything from healthy food recipes to food sustainability information to her followers. She said: ‘It’s good to meet other dietitians and clients.”
She also spoke on misconceptions of dietitian work. She said: “The biggest misconception is probably that we only help people loose weight, there is obviously weight management, but that is a small portion of it.
“Not many people know what dietitians are, so if we get our name out there, we can be known and myth bust.”
She has also written blog posts for other dietitians such as Christel Lyell and has stated she is looking to grow her social media presence even further in the future so there is much to look forward to.
According to the British Dietetic Association, a dietitian is a “qualified and regulated health professional that assess, diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems at an individual and wider public-health level.”
