A man has taken to social media to warn drivers to stay vigilant, after he hand-picked nearly 100 screws off a roundabout in Salford.
Scott Smallwood collected the debris this morning (Friday 21 April) after he saw dozens of screws and bolts strewn across the Tesco/Lidl roundabout in Irlam
He shared an image of the screws in a cardboard box on Facebook, explaining that several commuters joined him in retrieving the screws.
Mr Smallwood said: “Hi all i have just stopped the traffic a for a bit at tesco/lidl roundabout and picked up maybe 100 plus screws and bolts off the road actually on the roundabout but be careful incase i didn’t get them all.
“A nice truck driver waited patiently and a couple got out there car and helped but of cause there was one inpatient guy shot across on the wrong side… And if he has a pun[cture] then good . I couldn’t drive away from there without removing them.”
Mr Smallwood was thanked by fellows Salfordians, as commenters warned other drivers to stay vigilant in the area, after one man was left with a screw in his tyre yesterday (Thursday 20 April).
Lisa Rabbetts wrote: “Same thing happened the other day near the lights at tesco, they were all scattered across the road!”
Another commenter, Beverlie Lowe, said: “I definately think it was done on purpose.”
