Fresh off the back of scoring his first home goal on Tuesday, Louie Barry spoke ahead of Salford’s away game at Walsall.
Barry scored his first goal at the Peninsula stadium in Tuesday night’s 2-0 victory over Hartlepool United.
It was the second goal that Louie has scored for the club since arriving in January, and the 19-year old admits that, while he feels he has been playing well, he’d have liked to have got more goals on the board.
He said: “That was a really big goal for me because I feel like that’s what I do, all throughout the time I’ve grown up, cutting inside and whipping it.
“I tried it a few times, this season in previous games and it would go over the bar or be saved so when it went in the back of the net I was buzzing with it. I was very excited and I think you can see that in my celebration.”

Walsall have been in the news after sacking former head coach, Michael Flynn, but Barry insists that this will not alter their approach to the game.
He continued: “We’ll stick to our basics which the gaffer will tell us and we’ll go through what they do. I don’t think the base of what they do will change a lot.
“I think if we turn up on the day, it doesn’t really matter who the opposition is, we can beat anyone on our day.”
Before the win against Hartlepool, Salford had not kept a clean sheet in the league since their last game against Walsall back on January 31st, and clean sheets and game management is something that head coach Neil Wood wants more of.
Barry said: “The main thing he wanted us to get [Vs Hartlepool United] was the clean sheet, so that means game management, calming the games down.
“We stopped them using our press. All the players worked hard to the very last second and if we carry it on to the last three games I can’t imagine us losing.”

The loanee, who cut short a spell at League One MK Dons to join Salford, has been enjoying life since moving to the Ammies:
“As soon as I’ve come here, I said to my parents that I can already feel the vibe around here.
“I’ve been happy here on a personal level and the football has been good I feel like it’s a really strong squad.”
Walsall have been known to be a physical side, and small adaptations to a winger’s personal game have to be made in those types of games admits Barry.
“You do have to kind of adapt your game to play against a more physical player rather than a smaller technical player as you don’t want to get into strength and 1v1 battles.
“You have to use your brain more to beat them, so it would be more low-center of gravity, popping the ball about, 1-2s. I don’t have to adapt my full game just small areas like not getting into those physical battles.”
Salford play Walsall at 3pm on Saturday 22nd of April as they look to continue their play-off push.
